Note: the last West race with only 15 cars in the field was the May 10,
1997 race at Tucson with a victory of canadian Gary Smith from the pole
position.

Incorrect, the last KNPSW race with only 15 cars was indeed in 1997, but
it was the August 24th race at Altamont won by Sean Woodside.

To be fair, Colorado National Speedway has never really had large car
counts for their West races.
