Noah Gragson sweeps a weekend doubleheader (a first for the NASCAR West
series) in Utah with a last lap pass on points leader Todd Gilliland.

Chris Eggleston suffered a pair of engine failures in both races,
dropping him from third in the standings (-34 back) to seventh (-73
behind) in one weekend.

The races were on the 3.0 mile outer course for a 110 mile distance each
day.

This was a lot of fun to watch (albeit marred with some controversy).

Todd Gilliland took the lead from Riley Herbst with six to go and pulled
out to a healthy lead when Herbst and Noah Gragson got into a battle.
Gragson eventually cleared him then set his sights on Gilliland. Gragson
got a look underneath Gilliland going into the final corners and took it
to pull away.

The controversy stemmed from a black flag displayed to Todd Gilliland.
Gilliland's car was smoking late in the going so NASCAR displayed it to
him but retracted it, presumably after seeing that he wasn't laying down
fluid.

After the race, Ryan Partridge expressed his distaste in an interview
with NBCSN. He called it one of the worst officiated race weekends he
had been a part of and said that the officials needed to get a backbone.

Gragson and Gilliland got together on the last lap when Noah made an
aggressive move to take the top spot. Gilliland slide off the track but
stayed in it, driving through the dirt briefly but maintaining second.
What a finish.

Anybody on here go to this race? Admittedly wanted to go kinda but the
track is a ways drive. Good crowd?
