Weirdly though his #4 had one of the older style metal bodies so his white-and-green car had an unusual look with its branding decals trying to make it look like the newer model. 6. He qualified well but a mechanical failure knocked him out of a race so he does not remain undefeated in this series. 7. HouseOfPenske posted: 06.25.2017 - 11:04 am Rate this comment: (4) (0) @10 From an article a few months ago=He said he just wanted to have some fun,and that it's boring after qualifying for the Cup race so he wanted something to do later in the day. @3 You do realize (probably not) he drove equipment from a regular series owner and not SHR stuff right? 12. RaceFanX posted: 06.25.2017 - 6:14 pm Rate this comment: (2) (0) Harvick followed up his win here by sweeping the weekend. He won the Cup race the next day by a wide margin. 13. Mannoroth posted: 06.26.2017 - 12:15 pm Rate this comment: (1) (7) Kevin, no... He can't even win a stupid Xfinity race now, so he has to go even lower to "have some fun". And of course, he wins. And by the way, where the hell is the complaining he stole a win from K&N regulars? Ummm, hello? It's Kevin Harvick, the reckless driver that has to cheat to advance in the Chase, remember? I guess not... (Did you notice I started the first sentence the same way after Kyle Busch won his first and only K&N race at Iowa in 2009? Intentionally, of course, because this is the same situation. But I assume even Harvick can be or do wrong now...) 14. George posted: 06.26.2017 - 12:22 pm Rate this comment: (0) (4) Because the situation in which a Cup driver runs one (1) race in a 10-year period -- and does it in a regular series owner's car, not superior, overfunded KBM/JGR equipment -- in the K&N West Series is not precisely equivalent to the situation of the egotistical child known as Kyle Busch who has to puff himself up by ruining the Xfnity & Truck Series on a regular basis to the point where NASCAR has to make a rule (weak sauce though it is) limiting it. Perhaps that's why all but one person here isn't busy crying their eyes out over Harvick's once-in-a-blue-moon appearance in the KNPSW? 15. Gray Gaulding's Distant Cousin posted: 06.26.2017 - 12:47 pm Rate this comment: (0) (3) @14 Doesn't matter Cup driver winning a lower teir is the same if it's Harvick at Sonoma or if it's Kyle in NXS, It's still a cup driver winning a lower tier race he didn't need to. 16. Mannoroth posted: 06.26.2017 - 12:48 pm Rate this comment: (0) (2) Oh, that's a problem of the century. Interesting it wasn't such a big problem when Petty did the same thing as Kyle Busch, but actually three times in 1978, 1980 and 1981 (was running a standalone K&N race at Phoenix for his Cup team)... And now what? Will you start making excuses K&N was on the level of Cup back then like Alex did? That still doesn't excuse Petty that he simply wanted to have some fun in lower series... 17. Mannoroth posted: 06.26.2017 - 1:03 pm Rate this comment: (0) (5) 15. Exactly. And Harvick did it just for fun. Not to satisfy his sponsor or the owner he was running for. He even didn't care about it... how sad. Kyle is trying to get some sponsorship by running Trucks, at least. But dumb Buschwhacker haters like you will never get it, I suppose... 18. He ran in the top-5 early before the motor gave up in his Toyota Camry. His #43 had the Ricky Bobby "Talladega Nights" cougar on the hood. Daniel Suarez' #12 had a paint scheme identical to his #19 Monster Cup car except for the digits. 22. RaceFanX posted: 06.29.2017 - 11:27 pm Rate this comment: (2) (0) Ryan Blaney's day started going south early. Even before his mechanical woes knocked him out he had a flat tire and fell well back out of contention. 23. RaceFanX posted: 06.29.2017 - 11:52 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) The top-2 in this race both had the old Ford Fusion models. Tim Spurgeon came back from a spin that didn't bring out a yellow to take a top-15. Spurgeon got into Matt Levin and got Levin's #10 way out of shape in the closing laps. Blaney came charging through the field after that flat tire. He was up to sixth when his car gave out. Suarez ran great being in the top-5 for a good chunk of the race but faded out of contention late. 24. oldschoolracing519 posted: 08.28.2017 - 11:24 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) crew chief on the #54 should be R.B.
