Orange Show is also a tiny track. 3. Ultimate Warrior #18 posted: 05.15.2018 - 11:38 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Is Jefferson/Pitts Racing skipping this race? 4. An incredible .25 mile asphalt. The K&NPS West has been there once a year since returning in 2016. K&NPS West first came here in 1966 and Marvin Porter won from pole. A race without a single yellow flag! This is the paradox of this oval. Either the race looks like a procession. Either it's the rat race and a succession of yellow flag! In 2016 there were 9 for 63 laps behind the pace car! If Jack McCoy has won four times and leads the standings, he is followed by Chris Eggleston who won the last two races here with his BMR Toyota. It must be said that there were only great pilots in the history of the West who visited Victory Lane here. Don Noel, Cliff Garner, Jimmy Insolo and Hershel McGriff. The only surprise occurred in 1971 with Johnny Anderson who won his one and only career victory. He started in 11th position. The worst starting position for a winner. Because yes qualifications are very important at Orange Show. 10 of the 12 races competed here were won by a driver starting from Top5. Including 5 times since pole position. This year Chris Eggleston will not be present. It is therefore to a new winner that we will be entitled. But who ? Will the main sponsor of the race smile to one of the 3 drivers of the Bruncati Racing? Or will the victory return for the third consecutive year to the terrible Bill McAnally Racing. All the pilots will be to watch because here everyone can make an excellent result. Remember that it is here, for example, that Takuma Koga achieved his first career top5. That Ron Norman leads with two top10 ... And then there is Kody Vanderwal who must always be on his little cloud after his double success at Tucson. My Top5 prediction: Derek Kraus, Cole Rouse, Kody Vanderwal, Hailie Deegan and Derek Thorn. See you Saturday night for the answer. 6. Even with 16 cars the track is pretty packed. There was a late model event prior to this race that drew 23 cars and the first few laps were chaos until the herd got thinned out a bit. As for the race no one had anything for Partidge. The #16 did beat him on a restart at one point but couldn't hold him off in the long run. Later on in the race Kraus spent a lot of time getting in the way of faster drivers, including his teammate in the 99 who put him on blast in his post race interview. Hailie Deegan looked very impressive tonight. The way she drove the car was not indicative of someone with fewer than 10 races in a stock car. Local favorite Zach St. Onge was relatively fast in the 08 car and probably should have been 12th in his debut. Unfortunately, he seemed to be the victim continuously of other drivers forgetting how to drive. Overall it was a great race. If you are within a short driving distance of OSS I always recommend getting out to the races! 7. @Statscrash posted: 05.20.2018 - 2:14 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Well #6 that answers my question of how you wreck 4 times in 37.5 miles. 8. I've been apart of 30 car fields on 3/8s tracks and it's nuts. Now sub-20s on a half mile like last week's event at SoBo is something to worry about. 9. They each have three cars and took the top-6 at OSS. Vanderwal stole the races in Tucson, so he could certainly be a threat, and Will Rodgers is one of the best drivers in the field but doesn't seem to have much for the top teams right now. 10. JSPorts posted: 05.21.2018 - 6:45 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) The fact that the dominance you're talking about does exist just makes me more impressed with Vanderwal and, to a somewhat lesser extent, Rodgers. When a guy like Kody can steal races like that, it shows me that he's a good young talent. 11. Burl posted: 05.23.2018 - 7:22 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I was there. It was ok. But BMR and Sunrise are like Penske and Ganassi. The rest are more like Bo and Luke Duke racing in comparison. Some good drivers and well-prepared cars, but light years behind the two top teams. Car count is going to be an issue, I am afraid. This series is a far cry from the West series I was involved in for almost four decades. Glad I am out of the sport now. I wish them all well. There is some talent here. 12. nascar_vd / racing-reference.info posted: 05.24.2018 - 7:52 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) The decrease in the number of participants is a global problem. Whether in the NASCAR national series, Indycar, F1, DTM, WEC, WRC, ... So it is even more logical that the number is decreasing in the regional series. There is a lot less money. The media exposure is almost nil except rare exception. Me it does not scare me. Grids with 15-20 cars will become the norm. It's a shame of course. But it's like that. 13.
