(Assuming nothing on the car fails, of course) 2. This is the series' second visit to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Dirt Track, following the successful launch of this event last year. This race will be run as part of a unique double-header alongside the fabled World of Outlaws sprint cars. There are no big name NASCAR drivers from the higher level tours entered in this race but several will be racing alongside it. Cup racer Kyle Larson, Atlanta Xfinity Series winner Christopher Bell, and the recently retired from stock cars Kasey Kahne all entered the World of Outlaws race along with former Truck series racer Rico Abreu. Cup racers Kurt Busch and Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. are scheduled to attend these races as well but only for an autograph session with fans. 3. Former West series champion driver and crew chief Bill Sedgwick, who raced against Jones' father during the Truck series' inaugural season back in 1995, is serving as his crew chief for his debut. 4. Lapped cars getting in the way sure seemed to cost Jones much of his lead, as he was stuck behind the damaged 64 car for nearly 2 full laps. Jones tried to get Deegan back in 3&4, but Deegan held onto it and Jones couldn't get enough of a run to pass her coming to the flag. 12. 34McDowellFan posted: 03.01.2019 - 7:57 am Rate this comment: (2) (1) Deegan wins on a last lap pass again 13. Rico Abreu was fourth with Kyle Larson sixth, Christopher Bell tenth, and Kasey Kahne 14th. 15. The race that took place alongside this K&N West one as a doubleheader was won by Donny Schatz over Daryn Pittman and Logan Schubart. Kyle Larson was fifth while Kasey Kahne was two laps down in 19th. Race one winner Tim Shaffer was 17th while Christopher Bell and Rico Abreu did not qualify for the feature. 17. Would this be the first time a woman has led the Points Standings in any NASCAR Series? Or any series covered on this site, for that matter? 20. KentuckyWildcat posted: 03.01.2019 - 10:38 am Rate this comment: (0) (4) @19 No it isn't the first time a woman has ever led the point standings in any NASCAR series. In 2013, Danica Patrick led 5 laps durning first race of the season, the Daytona 500. She last led on laps 127-129, so if points had been awarded at that moment Danica Patrick was the points leader at that time. Only time I can think of it would have possibly occurred 21. With about 5 to go the 64 decided to be an idiot and block jones for about 2 laps. That cost him the win. 23. cba2442 posted: 03.01.2019 - 11:03 am Rate this comment: (5) (0) 19. Yes this is the first time a female has led point standings in Nascar. Ignore post 20 as it makes no sense. 24. Sure it's nice to see them running up front and winning, but it's sort of expected from them. It would be nice to see her win a few more races on the bread and butter tracks before everyone just hands her the 2024 cup championship. 25. Tarheel posted: 03.01.2019 - 11:54 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) They didn't award points until the race was over, so no, Danica never led the points. 26. That one pays the check and trophy. All the other laps before that are a preamble. I do agree with post #21. Those laps cars could all take a place on FriskyNixons "Those Damn Lap cars" videos. Did they have spotters or where they out for a coffee? Deegan and Jones did classic short track racing with roughing each other up but not crashing each other. The lap cars however shouldn't have gotten same courtesy. 28. joey2448 posted: 03.01.2019 - 9:21 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) At first, I thought that lapped car of Kenny Bumbera getting in Jones' way on the last lap was ridiculous, but both Jones and Deegan acknowledged that the bottom line was really the only place to run. Deegan said that any lapped car trying to stay out of the way by running higher up the track would just get into the dirt/marbles and struggle. That's why everyone was running the bottom and that's why Jones had to deal with the lapper on the final lap. 29. Or any racing series for that matter. Either way I'm impressed with how Hailie went for it. She sure knocked on Jagger's door to show him she's not going to be nice. Then to save it after he tried to bump her back. Way to go Hailie! 31. Luke posted: 03.01.2019 - 11:20 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) No. 86 was a Toyota as @10 already said 32. RaceFanX posted: 03.02.2019 - 1:04 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Jagger Jones led into turn 1 on the final lap only to have the lapped car of Kenny Bumbera chop down on him and make contact. That opened the door for Hailie Deegan to get into Jones and force her way past as they came out of Turn 2. Into Turns 3 and 4 Jones got right up to Deegan's bumper and gave her a little shot with the chrome horn only for Deegan to survive it and hold on for the win. 35.
