Krause has some pay back for her, in the future. That's not cool winning by crashing people. That sucks. She had boo's and cheers. 12. It was aggressive, she threw it down in there, but I think that Kraus didn't help himself by coming down. Deegan was being aggressive and it ended in the #16 going around. Deegan's at fault but I don't think it was flat out dumping Kraus. 15. Me. posted: 06.09.2019 - 7:20 am Rate this comment: (2) (1) I'm starting to grow skeptical of Hailie. So far ALL of her wins have come via contact with another car. Not saying she isn't talented but until she can win a race cleanly, she won't be moving up for a while. 16. wt22063 posted: 06.09.2019 - 7:20 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Hello, was anybody watching the same race I was.She got hit from behind twice, the second time diving down trying not to hit her team mate. Of course she did not hit her brakes, its called racing. The 16 car came down to pinch her off and the rest is history. I am not saying that she will push you push come to shove, I am saying this was not all her. She drives for Toyota, look who their No#1 driver is, Vyle Busch. Congrats Hailie! 17. Tim posted: 06.09.2019 - 7:20 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) I was at the race and yes she came into the curve hard, but no one mentioned that as she was making her move that #6 Jagger Jones ran into her from behind which pushed her into #16 Kraus. 18. Mile501 posted: 06.09.2019 - 8:03 am Rate this comment: (1) (1) It isn't like she came out of nowhere and tried to bump someone out of the way to steal a win. She led most of the second half of the race and was merely reclaiming the lead after that late caution nearly cost her the race win. Without the caution, she would have won easily. I'm not sure how anyone can fault her for being aggressive in that particular situation. I'm surprised no one mentioned her 66 laps led--a career high to this point. In each of her previous two wins, she only led the last lap. Based on laps led during the race, she definitely deserved this win the most of the three she's earned so far. 23. On the restart with 2 to go, Kraus dove into the corner late, hit her in the door, and they both slid three lanes off the bottom. In the last lap, Deegan dove into the corner late, hit him in the door. The only difference is Deegan didn't spin on the restart because she left him more room. They did the same thing to each other, they raced each other equally. That's short track racing 25. NewGuyOnTheBlock posted: 06.09.2019 - 11:01 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) This race was insane. The top 5 were all in sight of each other during the opening stages with Vanderwall, Deegan, Kraus, Zamora, and Jones running nose-to-tail and beating the doors off each other for 75 straight laps. The second half opened with a FOURWIDE battle for the lead with the Bill McNally cars throwing team orders out the window and slamming into each other with no remorse. It was short track racing at it's finest. As for the finish, Deegan had pulled away by two seconds from Jones and looked to be en route for an easy win when Zamora spun, bringing out the caution. On the restart, Kraus made it 3-wide and took the lead, with Deegan spinning him out in turn 4 to take her third career win. The Bruncati Fords took each other out resulting in Vanderwall and Souza taking 2nd and 3rd. Yeah, definitely the best race of the K&N West season so far. 26. Scott25 posted: 06.09.2019 - 11:33 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) Agree with @24. That's short track racing. Kraus made an aggressive move on the restart to take the lead (as he should), roughing up Deegan, so she had every right to rough him up back. That's racing. It's exactly the same thing as the Larson-Busch Chicago finish last year in Cup. Also this is K&N, there are very few ?clean? drivers or races. It's like complaining when the monkeys at the zoo throw their feces at each other. 27. Alex posted: 06.09.2019 - 3:04 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Deegan is showing the exact kind of attitude you need to get things done. She deserves to be a star one day. 28. Matt posted: 06.09.2019 - 3:58 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I'm starting to become skeptical of Hailie's skills. Yes, she led 66 laps in this one (first race she's won where she led multiple laps), but all 3 she's won, she wasn't leading at the white flag, and at least 2 of the 3 she's won by bump-and-running another car. Maybe if she wins a race where she was leading more than just the last lap (by that I mean she's actually leading before the white flag drops) and she actually wins it cleanly, then I'll start liking her more. I do like her, just skeptical. 29. Darrell Waltrip noted "that's how I would have done it." 30. Drakion posted: 06.09.2019 - 4:10 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) I still fail to see how she did anything wrong....that was just classic good ol short track racing, she got roughed out of the lead on the restart and did exactly what any real racer would do, and no she did not just dump the 16, she saw a hole and went for it. She has shown she has the skill and will to be successful, I hope she ends up as a Cup star one day. 31. Iamthedebris posted: 06.09.2019 - 4:17 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) @30 Deegan dumped him. Drakion posted: 06.09.2019 - 4:22 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @31 Nope, I watched the video several times, that was no where close to "dumping" him. He left the bottom open and she went for it, same move pulled hundreds of times in short track racing. Once she was there he left her no room and contact was made. I applaud her for going for it, shows she is a real racer. 34. Allison28Gant33 posted: 06.09.2019 - 6:10 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) He pushed it 3 wide but didn't wreck anyone. She was determined to punt him. It was dirty. She has 3 wins all due to her making contact with the leader. It'll catch up to her sooner or later. 35. 1995-Subaru-WRX-Sti posted: 06.09.2019 - 7:46 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Just saw the finish.... a certain quote from Aryton Senna comes too mind. 36. However my final judgement over her will come when she's in Kraus' shoes one day (probably soon). It's fine to be aggressive and go for the win but if the exact same thing is done in return and you retaliate after the checkers or whine about it in the post race interview than I'll lose all the respect I've gained since her career started. She's shown the ability to be the windshield with class and respect. Can she be the ?bug? and show that same type of composure. If so I'm a fan for life. If not she's just another spoiled elitist racer who expects ppl to move over for them but never expect the same in return. 42.
