Mile501 posted: 02.17.2020 - 1:19 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Based on this entry list, this season looks to be a continuation an unusual trend in the west series. Numbers between 1 and 5 are probably among the most commonly used across all forms of motorsports. However, throughout 2019, there were no west series drivers using any of those numbers, aside from a few one-off entries at Sonoma or Phoenix. The first race of 2020 again includes no numbers below 6 on its entry list. 3. faninthestands posted: 02.17.2020 - 3:09 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) wow figured more cars! 4. If nothing else, 19 is even with what they pulled at the dirt track last year. Think Mayer is going for the East title and running the odd West race, with Vegas being the home base of the Gallaghers and the Spencer Clark Foundation on the car it's probably one of the few West races on the team's schedule. 8. faninthestands posted: 02.18.2020 - 8:20 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) figured some dgrc cars would show! 9. David23 posted: 02.20.2020 - 5:35 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Actually Mayer is running in all the East and West races this season since he isnt old enough to run on tracks over 1 mile yet. 10. Kulquicki posted: 02.21.2020 - 12:51 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Seems like we have stronger fields in the East than the West. Not very surprising considering the East is a hotbed for stock car racing teams. 13. SanfordSFB posted: 02.21.2020 - 7:47 am Rate this comment: (3) (3) 3,000 people were in attendance? ^^Only to see Kyle Busch drive his Super Late Model. I predicted the ARCA West race would be a snoozer with ZERO crashes at the bullring. 3 spins and then one desperate debris caution to break up the single file touring cars. Right on cue. 14. Mile501 posted: 02.21.2020 - 8:34 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) Gracie Trotter had a nice west series debut with a solid 4th-place finish. 15. RaceFanX posted: 02.21.2020 - 8:40 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Sam Mayer won the first-ever ARCA Menards East Series race at New Smyrna earlier this season and backs it up by winning the first-ever ARCA Menards West Series race at Las Vegas! The ARCA Menards West era begins on the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the first race for the West tour here since 2012 in its prior incarnation. 16. Anonymous posted: 02.21.2020 - 9:08 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) No surprise Mayer won, this field is extremely weak. Not that I'm putting him down, mind you, as the East is way more competitive and he kicks ass there too. The point is, the West is probably the worst off it's ever been. 17. Timothy_Eklund posted: 02.21.2020 - 9:11 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) @15 the stats carry over iirc. 18. Timothy_Eklund posted: 02.21.2020 - 9:12 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) But yes, it is interesting that he won the first 2 races under the AMSE and AMSW banner, never thought about that until now! 19. 12334 posted: 02.21.2020 - 9:19 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Alan got screwed by that last restart, he was in for a likely top 5 before that 20. David posted: 02.21.2020 - 9:27 am Rate this comment: (5) (0) There's some confusion to say the least about whether the stats carry over, but I've been told this much: the driver pages on this site, such as Sam Mayer's, look the way they do now because NASCAR insists they look that way. I'm not saying it necessarily makes any sense (IMO, it doesn't), but I am saying that those who keep demanding that the ARCA East & West be combined with the old K&N East & West grids on the driver pages can keep spitting into the wind for all the good it's going to do. Because this site for the past couple of years or so has become the "official" repository for the lower NASCAR series stats, and now ARCA too as of 2020, what's shown here must reflect what NASCAR considers to be official. 22. Yeet posted: 02.21.2020 - 10:21 am Rate this comment: (2) (0) The #0 of Bobby Hillis Jr jokingly put a "<" in front of his number to make it appear his number was "less than zero". He also added tape to the front of his car to make his car a Toyota "KAMREE" 23. Timothy_Eklund posted: 02.21.2020 - 10:42 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) @21 So basically, Sam Mayer is 2-2 in the Arca regional series! 24. David23 posted: 02.21.2020 - 10:53 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) Sorry correction....Mayer is not running all of the west races this season. It is the East, Showdown, and select Nascar Truck series races. My apologies ! 25. JSPorts posted: 02.21.2020 - 11:19 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Correct. He may run more than the 1 West race he ran in 2019, but his focus will be on a full-time East Series schedule. 26. oldschoolracing519 posted: 02.21.2020 - 11:20 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) same like the East series this is not a new series just a name change like any other sponsor change Can we please fix this issue, Arca West and K&N West stats same as the east series need merged it is the 1 series each not new series for both the stats did not reset. For anybody that watched the race last night even the announcers mentioned that fact they talked about how Mayer was the defending Arca East series champ. 27. Timothy_Eklund posted: 02.21.2020 - 11:50 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) At least the championships carry over. 28. BR549 posted: 02.21.2020 - 11:50 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) @26 read the other comments, obviously NASCAR wants the stats split at least for this website. All Entry Lists, Qualifying Results, Race Results, etc from the Official ARCA site link to here now. So long story short, if NASCAR wants it split up, that's how it will be presented on this site. 29. David posted: 02.21.2020 - 11:51 am Rate this comment: (2) (0) @27 You are correct. Which helps to make things more confusing. 30. JSPorts posted: 02.21.2020 - 12:05 pm Rate this comment: (2) (0) I don't understand why the two have to be split. These series are the natural carry-over of the old K&N Series. 31. Mile501 posted: 02.21.2020 - 12:07 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @21, 28 - It's for that same reason that this site lists Bobby Allison with 84 wins, but if you click on that "84" on his page, 85 wins are shown. 32. Timothy_Eklund posted: 02.21.2020 - 12:09 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) So do we call Todd Gilliland a 2 time Arca East champion? 33. Mile501 posted: 02.21.2020 - 12:15 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) @32 - I always found it amusing when we would hear something like "Richard Petty is a 7-time Nextel Cup champion" when neither Nextel nor cell phones existed when Petty won his championships. 35. Burl posted: 02.21.2020 - 12:20 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Far cry from when I was involved in West. 30 years ago we were what the old Pacific Coast League in baseball was to the Major Leagues. It is just a minor feeder series out here, almost a school series now. Last night was awful. But there are some good, young shoes out there on The way up. Overall, West is dead, though. The glory years were mighty. 36. Fan posted: 02.24.2020 - 5:45 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Mayer got his shocks confiscated. Busted. 37. I'm going off observations from the fan walks at Irwindale and Orange Show, so Gilliland's popularity may have been skewed due to local popularity. 45.
