I said it a few weeks ago, this series wont last another year. Its sad
too because this used to be one of my favorite series in their prime
about 6 to 7 years ago.

I remember when the series started about 1996. It was great racing and
stayed that way till Speed slashed their TV time from 2 to 1 hour until
they left Speed altogether.

is there an ASA touring series anymore? i miss the days when there was
2-3 good short track races a weekend on speed channel. these guys + ASA
(sometimes on tnn) were awesome to watch, this looks like we won't be
posting about these races in a year.

Jon: The ASA that guys like Mike Eddy, Bob Senneker ran is no more. It
sucks because they used to have great races.

Bill Plemons Jr. returns to USAR/CARS competition after a two-year
absence. Not a bad performance for a 64-year-old driver either in his
first start back.

Tyler Young scores his first USAR/CARS victory in his 41st start in the
series. Young has won the pole for both races this season.

If the U.S enters a double dip recession like Europe, then alot of
racing series will go under. And the ones that are left will have very
low car counts.

The ASA Late Model series was the USPRO Series, which the original ASA
Series bought and renamed. When ASA went under, the original owners of
the ASA Late Model Series bought the series back, and it ran until the
end of 2010.

The ASA Midwest Tour still runs, and have a very interesting schedule
for 2012 thought Michigan, Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin.

Neither of these series are directly related to the old ASA National
Tour that went under following the 2004 season.
