Pulliam ran this tour full-time in 2018 but retired from regular competition at the end of that season. This was the inaugural year for the Old North State Nationals at Orange County Speedway. With a $30,000 prize for taking the victory the race was promoted as the richest in late model stock history. Taylor Gray finished second in this one but still made more money for doing so than he did for winning in the series' prior race at Hickory. Timothy Peters had a good run going in this one until his #12 Toyota blew a tire, setting him up for a one-way ticket into the outside wall and out of the race. 2. _Pale_Writer_ posted: 04.09.2019 - 10:40 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Congrats to Lee Pulliam and the Indian Trail Tribe on another great win. 3. While it was a dirt late model race and not a late model stock one there was also the one-off Eldora Million back in 2001 which lived up to its name with a $1,000,000 prize for winner Donnie Moran. That and the Legends Million at Charlotte in 2010 (won by future Cup racer Daniel Hemric) are tied for being the richest short track races in history. 5.
