Jody Ridley clinched the title in style by stealing the win in the
Myrtle Beach 400. Ridley only had to finish in the top 24 to clinch the
championship, but with a very deep field in a lengthy race the task
wasn't nearly as easy as advertised. With an astonishing 25 cautions,
there was certainly more than enough opportunity for Ridley to be taken
out somewhere along the way.

The spring 1992 Busch race at Hickory infamously had 26 in a 300-lap
event, which as far as I know is, at the least, the current recordholder
for the top three series. I think if there was a race from any of the
lesser touring series that had more than 26 it would have been recent
enough that it would be at least somewhat widely-known at present. Then
again I had no clue about this race having 25 cautions until I read a
couple of newspaper articles about it, so the mileage on my previous
assumption may vary...
