Payne Ridley's winnings - $8,600 Bloomquist was apparently giving a second go at a transition to stock cars at the time, and he found much more success in the All-Pro ranks than he did in his brief ARCA foray a couple years earlier. A local news article leading up to the race mentioned that Bloomquist was hoping to parlay a strong run against the usual batch of All-Pro regulars as well as the two NASCAR stars in the field (Ken Schrader and Slim Jim driver David Green, who was on his way to the Busch title) into a tryout in the Busch series. Bloomquist seemingly ran quite well in both outings, beating both Schrader & Green here as well as two other future NASCAR winners (Crawford & Jones), but after this he didn't run another NASCAR race until the inaugural Truck show at Eldora in 2013 - nearly 20 years later. A rather underwhelming showing there made it by far the least successful of his three NASCAR starts. Ridley won on a last-lap pass when Query got a poor jump on the GWC restart. Ridley ducked to his inside, wheeling side-by-side until Ridley cleared Query in turns 1 and 2 on the final lap. Mike Cope, ready to pounce on the leaders, followed right in Ridley's wake and leapfrogged Query as well. 8. rm posted: 08.16.2020 - 10:05 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Did find a pole speed for Walls - 101.827 mph. 9.
