Mike Cope- #44 Penrose Meat Snacks Chevrolet

Barfield sprinted away to win this one but Mike Cope ended up crashing
out of the track on the final lap. Ron Young and Mike Cope were racing
for second on the last lap when they made contact and Cope spun off the
top of the track in Turn 3 (Mobile lacked an outside wall). Young didn't
crash but went up the track and lost several spots coming to the line.

Professional WWF wrestler Bob Holly, a real life short track racer and
track champion here at Mobile, makes his lone NASCAR All Pro appearance
and records a top-20. Fittingly, Holly's wrestling character gimmick at
the time was that he was a race car driver named Bob "Spark Plugg"
Holly, who was trying his hand at wrestling. The race car driver concept
didn't sell with WWF fans but Holly later became very popular in the
2000s after his character was overhauled into "Hardcore Holly."

Scott Sutherland in a Chevrolet.

Keith English in a Pontiac.

Mark Gerke in a Ford.

All three competed in the first half of the doubleheader the night
before and crashed. They were unable to return to compete in the second
half of the doubleheader.
