He won all three of his 400s in the first five years of the event being a All-Pro series race. Sponsors: #44 Mike Cope- Penrose Meat Snacks #2 Steve Allison- HealthSouth 2. Walls led right from the green flag until the engine let go on his #81 just 21 laps into the race sending his self-sponsored entry to the sidelines. Sage then took the lead only for his car to suffer a mechanical failure, under caution no less, that also knocked him out of the race. Nashville local favorite Joe Buford saw his day end with a wall ride as he and fellow Nashville ace Chad Chaffin crashed together. 4. This was Purvis' seventh and final All-Pro win and his first since he won the 1992 All-American 400. At the time of this race he was racing for James Finch and mostly splitting his time between part-time efforts in the NASCAR Winston Cup and Busch Grand National Series; he and Finch went full time in Busch for 1996. 5. While he had been running the tour for most of the prior two seasons he only made three starts in 1995 (two of the televised races early in the season and this one near the end) as he was starting to move up into the NASCAR Busch Grand National series. Jones and his #00 effort left All-Pro behind for good after this race and went full-time in the higher tour for 1996. 6. Something in right front area of the car ignited and the flames were starting to come into the cockpit as Wallace brought the car into the pits before bailing out. The fire was quickly extinguished but the T-Bird was done for the day. 7. RaceFanX posted: 12.07.2019 - 8:13 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Sponsor: #53 Scott Hansen- Wisconsin Aviation / AFCO 8. Scott Hansen was an ASA regular this season but, with a top-10 finish in that series' point standings pretty much locked up, he skipped that race to come south and chase a big pay day at Nashville after having won here in the spring. Hansen picked up a top-5 for his moonlighting efforts. Former All American 400 winner Bob Senneker won the ASA race in spectacular fashion as he crashed coming across the finish line with Joe Nott as the two battled for the victory. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
