Rookie Steven Christian kicks off his first full-time season on the tour with a runner-up finish. Judging by the results the end of this one must have been wild. Freddie Query had the dominant car but it appears got crashed or spun late allowing (the now disgraced) Rick Crawford to get by, lead the last two laps, and pick up the first of his career-high three wins this season. It'd put money a chrome horn was involved in the finish of this one somehow... Wisconsin ASA racer Matt Kenseth gets DQed and ends up last. 2. rm posted: 07.29.2020 - 11:05 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Steven Christian was in the #0 BellSouth Chevy for this race, and I feel pretty confident in saying that was the case for the rest of his 1996 All-Pro season as well. 3. rm posted: 07.29.2020 - 11:43 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Kenseth was DQ'd for unapproved carburetor modifications. Freddie Query was black flagged for rough driving but refused to serve his penalty, and after his grace period expired his scorecard was pulled for the last two laps. Not sure if that should alter his status or not. Query insisted that politics were in play here, surmising that the officials were less lenient on him because he ran in the Hooters late model series, the predecessor of the Hooters Pro Cup series. Crawford's winnings - $8,250 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
