Christian started 28th. Race was marred by a 17 car crash on the first lap in Turn 2 which resulted in a 35 minute red flag to clean up the mess. 4. Several of the drivers starting near Christian weren't so lucky, including Chad Bland who was directly ahead of Christian on the grid. As the regular Salem attrition began to take its toll on the rest of the field over the remaining 200+ laps, the number of lead lap cars dropped sharply. Christian was 2 laps down after pitting late in the going but carefully tracked down Toby Porter upon getting back on the lead lap. Christian made the pass for the lead with 5 laps to go and held off Porter's attempts from there. Not a bad finish to a race where the next-closest competitor was 5 laps down! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
