Wayne Anderson wins the 1998 All Pro season opener but it would be his
only win of the season. He was focusing on the Truck series this year
and only ran a limited schedule, rejoining the tour full time when his
truck efforts didn't work out.

The NASCAR All-Pro series makes its final visit to Florida's Volusia
County Speedway. The track's pavement days were numbered and in 1999 it
was converted back into a dirt track.

Mike Harmon leads a race for the last time in his Southeast Series
career. Harmon led multiple laps in a race 4 different times but failed
to win any of them - and what's more is he failed to even finish any of
those races.

He crashed out here and at Lanier the year before after losing the lead
on a set of pit stops. He had blown up at Volusia the year before after
dominating the first half of the race. And in the race that probably
hurt the most, he had led every lap at the series' inaugural race at
Homestead when the engine shut off on him just before halfway.

Track length - 0.375 miles

Despite the smaller oval being paved before this race, the All Pro
series only ran one race on the new configuration before abandoning the
complex altogether.
