Parker ran two full seasons on the tour but by 1998 his attention was turning to the NASCAR Busch Series, he ran two All-Pro races this season and moved to Busch as a regular in 1999. 3. rm posted: 09.26.2018 - 2:25 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Gilchrist's winnings - $14,900 Pole speed - 112.570 mph Margin of victory - 1.074 seconds 4. Raymond had retired after 1993 but started running his late model again in 1997, though success was fleeting at best. Raymond intended to give ARCA one last go but withdrew his only entries of the year, opting to head back east instead. His All-Pro attempts didn't go a ton better, DNQ'ing at least 4 times in 6 attempts, but at least he was running at the finish here. Raymond retired for good after this, noting how he felt like an "also-ran" by 1998 even though there were plenty of competitive drivers out their that were his age (44 at the season's end) or older. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
