Steven Howard follows up his first All-Pro win by immediately scoring
his second triumph. These two victories were his only ones of 1999.

This was also the All-Pro series' only visit to Gateway although the
similar Midwest tour ran here several times. In an unusual NASCAR/CART
team up this race was an undercard event for the open-wheel series'
short-lived "Day before the 500" Memorial Day weekend race at the St.
Louis oval.

No, the truck series used to have winter heat races that they advertised
as 20 (eg Mesa Martin 20).

Modifieds also ran races at NHMS with "40" in the title. 40 is as low as
I have ever seen on a points race, but the Winter Heats as mentioned
above did have "20"s.

This was the first ever night race at Gateway and the first ever night
superspeedway race for the Southeast Series.

Cope DNQ'd after his throttle hung going into turn 1 in qualifying and
he destroyed the right side of his car.
