Roman Calczynski drove a Chevy.

Local racer Ken Boyd makes his Southwest Tour debut and wins the race.
This was the first of two wins for Boyd, both of which came at Stockton.

Boyd's win was the first in the series on the tour for a Buick (granted
this was only the series second race).

Carl Lux' sixth was his only top-10 in the series.

Modesto racer Bob Strandwold makes his Southwest Tour debut and finishes
a strong fifth. This would be his only top-5 run in the series even
though he made 10 further starts in it.

The late Frog Trent, also of Modesto, makes his only Southwest Tour
start and comes home with a top-10.
