Ron Esau won the first Southwest Tour race at Riverside in 1986 and he
won the series' last race at the track here. This race was part of
Riverside's final major weekend of racing, sharing Saturday with an IROC
race before the last Winston Cup/Winston West combination race on Sunday.

Doug Taylor drove the #40 PM Racing Team Camaro (it was an old body
style Camaro)

Doug Taylor started second, Jim Thirkettle had the pole

Doug Taylor started 4th not second

Hendrick's lone appearance behind the wheel in the Southwest Tour saw
him race a white-and-yellow Camaro painted in a simplified version of
the same scheme his Cup team used that year on Geoff Bodine's #5 entry.

Loran Kelly finished 42nd in the No. 20 G & K Construction Pontiac
TransAm. He completed 1 lap.
