ASA driver Scott Hansen holds off NASCAR Winston Cup racer Ken Schrader
and NASCAR All-Pro standout Rick Crawford to score his first NASCAR
Southwest Tour victory. This was just Hansen's sixth start in the
series, all of them coming at Phoenix to this point.

With visiting drivers from other series sweeping the top-3 Doug George
was the best of the Southwest Tour regulars in fourth place.

TNN televised this race and it got a little hairy for their track level
Turn 3 camera man. When Ron Esau hit the wall the passenger door
bodywork came off the #26 Chevrolet and went through a gap in the fence,
almost clipping the camera man but thankfully this incident wasn't more
than a near miss.

Third caution - 07, 2, 9, 17, 37, 46 accident turn 4

Mike Joy, Neil Bonnett and Buddy Baker were the commentators. Glenn
Jarrett and Ralph Sheheen were the pit road reporters.

There would be no repeat of the championship dramatics from 1992 this
time out as Ron Hornaday, Jr. came into Phoenix with the championship
already clinched. That was a good thing for Ron as while his yellow #97
Palmdale Chiropractic Oldsmobile was fast early on a mechanical failure
while running second to Brett Bell doomed his hopes for a good finish.
