Stop Peterson-on-Pedersen violence!) 5th caution - 44, 73, 85 accident dogleg 6th caution - 67 debris frontstretch & pit road Poor Bob Lyon. Lyon was one of the cars that got the worst of the big crash on lap 78, but the crew diligently worked to get the car in shape to return to the track and click off some more laps. Lyon returned to the track, about 50 laps down, but he was able to run at a respectable enough pace. Mark Reed, one of the leaders, got impatient trying to lap Mac McGarry as they ran down the backstretch and approached the even slower car of Lyon on the far inside of the track. Reed pressed the issue in order to get the line he wanted in turn 3 and set off the squeeze play, sending Lyon up the track and across Reed's nose on a collision course with the outside wall. What little sheetmetal was left on Lyon's modified-looking car promptly abandoned ship upon impact with the concrete, ending a very disappointing day for Lyon in spectacular fashion. 6. His brother Craig Raudman came into this race second in points but a 1-2 championship finish wasn't in the cards as his issues combined with Bryan Germone's top-10 run allowed the latter racer to take the runner-up position in the final standings. There was a dust storm moving over the track just before the planned start of the race and it made conditions a little tough. During the pace laps NASCAR paused the action to have all the cars come in the pits so the crews could clear the dust off the car's windshields and grills before the race could properly start. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
