It wasn't a case of the underdogs having a great day, though - with 60 cars on the entry list in the NASCAR late model portion of Winter Heat and 40 on the full-bodied West list for the following weekend, it was very well-attended. Former Southwest champ Bryan Germone and reigning West champ Kevin Harvick were among the standouts who had to take provisionals before racing into the top ten by the race's end.
