Nick Joanides won the pole (8-car invert)

To the rear - 01 - backup car

First caution - 10, 13, 34, 39, 97 accident frontstretch
Third caution - 39 accident (finally got back out onto the track, only
to crash again when the hasty repair job caused a suspension failure and
a broken gear)

Joanides drew and 8 on the invert and was immediately caught up in a big
first-lap crash. That's no way to treat the polesitter!

WD:
Gary Matranga - #32 - Sherm's - Chevrolet
Auggie Vidovich - #59 - Creative Touch Interiors - Chevrolet

Matranga and Vidovich crashed together hard in practice. Both had to
pack up and leave. There was also nearly another crash in practice:
apparently a chihuahua dog got loose onto the track and was almost hit
by a car. A timely caution helped save the poor pup. Or, to quote the
pre-race notes package: "a small Taco Bell style dog had jumped off the
turn 4 wall in the middle of practice. This little fellow is now under
the care of one of the officials."

Yup, "Taco Bell style" is definitely my new favorite dog breed.

Harvick's winnings - $4,000

Fourth caution - 04, 70 accident turn 3

Winning races with a third-place car is a whole lot easier when the
drivers in first and second take each other out, as Kevin Harvick
learned on this night.
