This was the Southwest Tour's final race on a road course. This was Dyer's only top-5 in the series. His only other top-10 finish also came at Sonoma in 2004. 2. The self-owned team tried but ultimately failed to make repairs and could not start the race. In a show of goodwill, Waltrip moved the State Fair sponsorship over to the unsponsored Eric Holmes car for the race in which Holmes finished 2nd.
