San Francisco local Tom Dyer scores his only NASCAR Southwest Tour
victory as the series runs its famous Cup undercard race on the road
course at Sonoma for the final time. This was the Southwest Tour's final
race on a road course.

This was Dyer's only top-5 in the series. His only other top-10 finish
also came at Sonoma in 2004.

Cup racer Dave Blaney's only Southwest Tour start ends with a mechanical
failure before halfway.

To the rear - 63 - pitting before the green; 87 - driver change

The crew had to replace the radio in the car, but no matter, Dyer roared
back to beat an all-star field anyway.

62 sponsor - State Fair Corndogs
89 sponsor - Blue Lizard Australian Suncream

Michael Waltrip crashed in qualifying and supposedly destroyed his car.
The self-owned team tried but ultimately failed to make repairs and
could not start the race. In a show of goodwill, Waltrip moved the State
Fair sponsorship over to the unsponsored Eric Holmes car for the race in
which Holmes finished 2nd.

Third caution - 11 stalled on track
Sixth caution - 36 stalled on track

Kenny Hendrick, #87 Christine Marie Motorsports Chevrolet
