Last indy 500 for Gaston Chevrolet. He died in an auto accident on
Thanksgiving day.

Bennett Hill.

Last Indy 500 starts for Gaston Chevrolet, Pete Henderson, Ray Howard,
Eddie O'Donnell, Willie Haupt, Louis Chevrolet, and Jean Porporato.

Gaston Chevrolet wins his lone Indy 500 in what turned out to be his
second and final run in the famous race. He fittingly won the race in a
Frontenac, he and his brothers Louis and Arthur ran the company which
specialized in making racing parts for Ford Model Ts (yup, the Chevrolet
boys were making parts for FORDS!).

I think the Dodge brothers also worked for the Ford Motor Co. initially,
if I'm not mistaken.

Gaston Chevrolet is the last Frenchmen to win the Indianapolis 500 until
Simon Pagenaud in 2019. Pagenaud won his race with Chevrolet engine. The
car manufacturer was started by Gaston's brother Louis.
