Last Indy 500 starts for Eddie Hearne, Tommy Milton, Frank Elliott, Wade Morton, William Shattuc, Fred Lecklider, Harry Hartz, Jules Ellingboe, and Dave Lewis. Hearne's start marked the final time a driver who started the inaugural Indy 500 competed in the event (although not the final time one would enter the race; Ralph DePalma failed to qualify in 1931). 4. Souders, who led the last 51 laps on the way to the win, only ran the Indy 500 twice and this was the only time he led the race. 6. The lap leader chart doesn't add up at all with the laps completed postings. 7. Jolly Mean Giant posted: 05.01.2018 - 8:17 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Info on some of the DNQ drivers... Something neat the Racing-Reference team deserves a nod for is that in the process of merging the results all of the existing comments for these Indianapolis 500 races have been carried over onto the AAA pages. Thank you again to Racing-Reference for doing this. 9. Jolly Mean Giant posted: 05.30.2018 - 1:01 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) Qualifying speeds: 1. Frank Lockhart, 120.100 MPH 2.
