Ellis started 6th, Glenn Jarrett 9th and Dale Jarrett 10th according to
a local news article.

Margin of victory: .026 seconds (which would make it the closest finish
in series history until 1994, and at present the 14th-closest finish in
series history)
There were 9 cautions for 53 laps, as well as a 3:22 red flag for rain
mid-race, making it a 5-and-a-half hour affair in total
There were 7 lead changes among 4 drivers

Dale Earnhardt just barely ran out of time to close in on David Pearson
and came up short with a run on the outside of turn 4 on the final lap,
coming in second by 26-thousandths of a second.
