Matt posted: 07.26.2006 - 6:25 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) The race was actually shortened because of a savage crash very similar to those suffered by Michael Waltrip and Mike Harmon at Bristol. Young Bubba Nissen of Virginia Beach, VA crashed into the armco barrier in between gaps in the turn 2 and backstretch wall. Nissen's front end was ripped away and the car was then struck by another competitor which sent the engine and remaining front end parts across the track. Nissen suffered a badly broken leg and internal injuries but returned to race again. 3. driver1 posted: 03.24.2007 - 11:11 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Davey Allison's first nascar race. 4. nascarman posted: 07.09.2008 - 3:13 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Bubba's helmet was knocked off in the crash. 5. Hunt Produce Nissen's wreck ended the race because the event was red flagged and NASCAR determined the repairs would take longer than they had remaining daylight to compete the race. Rockingham then as now does not have lights for night racing. 9. The Ost posted: 01.27.2012 - 8:33 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Dale Jarrett's #32 car was sponsored by PET Dairy 10.
