Brett Hearn got some major air in a crash coming off of turn 4. He was
trying to come down into the pits I believe, but got run over from
behind by another car and spun, and he back of the car lifted pretty
high in the air before settling back down again.

At the time defending ASA champion Mark Martin makes his second career
Busch start. His only previous appearence was a race at IRP in 1982.

This was Mark's best career Busch Series finish at the time and would
remain so until his famous win at Dover later in the year.

Geoff Bodine wins the Daytona Busch race for the second time in three
years, being second in 1986 in between wins.

Haskell Willingham gets a top-15 in his final BGN start.

Bobby Allison about ran over the pace car in this race.

Allison was coming down pit road, looking to turn into the garage
opening after he lost an engine, but encountered another problem on top
of the DNF: the pace car was sitting right in the opening in the wall,
ready to take to the track when needed. Allison didn't hit the pace car,
which quickly reversed out of the way, but he sure didn't miss it by
much when he slammed on the brakes to come to a halt.
