First Busch Series start for Jeff Burton.

Jimmy Hensley scores his second-straight Busch victory at Martinsville.
This was his only win of 1988.

L.D. Ottinger dominated this race but his brakes failed late. HIs lack
of stopping power allowed Jimmy Hensley to run him down and pass him for
the win during the closing laps. Ottinger ultimately would not win a
Busch race in 1988.

Jimmy Spencer ran this race then jumped in Modified to run their race at
Martinsville the same day. He finished eighth here and then seemingly
won that race only to get DQed for an illegal fuel tank.
