He won the Busch championship the next year and went to Cup after that. Sadly he was killed after a highway crash and was awarded rookie of the year posthumously. 2. A lot of people say that if Davey Allison and Alan Kulwicki didn't die, that Dale Sr, would only have 5 championships. They are probably right, but he might only have 4 if Rob Moroso stayed alive!! And yes he was that good!! I think Moroso became the youngest Busch Series driver to win in this race and his streak was broken by Casey Atwood in 1999. 3. Some of you fanboys absolutely make me sick. 4. b4il3y posted: 09.05.2013 - 3:24 am Rate this comment: (2) (0) Some of you who troll these boards make me sick.. mistakes happen, and yes sometimes you don't get a second chance. Don't degrade what he did before his mistake. Asshole. 5. Tommy Ellis ended up winning it this year, but could never quite make it in Winston Cup. Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson both were full time Busch Series drivers and never came close to winning a title, immediate success in Cup racing and two of the greatest of all time. Tony Stewart, same thing, no wins the couple years he spent in Busch but immediate success in Cup. You can go the other way Dale Jr spent two full seasons as a Busch series driver before moving up to Cup and won 2 Busch titles (98,99) and looked like he was going to be a future multiple Winston Cup champion. He got to Cup and just didn't get it done no matter how many popular driver of the year titles he won. I could go on and on with this. Xfinity series success doesn't automatically mean Cup success and vice versa. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
