Joe Millikan brings the car, which was so iconic with drivers like Sam Ard and Brett Bodine, home 12th in its last ride 2. He'd make just 8 Cup series starts after this 3. He had a head injury and it pretty well finished his driving career. Mike was an amazing driver, diminutive in size but huge in terms of talent and desire. For those who saw him drive the late model / All Pro type race car, they know they saw one of the best of his era. He was on his way to a (Winston) Cup career when this injury occured. He was special!! 5. Matt posted: 11.21.2008 - 1:51 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Car owner for Morgan Shepherd in this race was Hubert Hensley. 6. For all the bad luck Harry Gant had in Winston Cup for the 86 through 88 seasons (they stopped calling him Handsome Harry and eventually started calling him hard luck Harry). He made up for it with good racing plus some big breaks like this one in the Busch Series. Tommy Houston was about to have a wire to wire win like Jeff Burton ended up doing, led every single lap of the race 1-198 and when he was on the penultimate lap, about to get the white flag, he runs out of gas and Harry Gant leads the final 2 laps only to win his 5th Busch race of the final 7. 10.
