Rob Moroso gets his first win. Ironically, Jack Pennington, Moroso's
main opponent for Winston Cup Rookie of the Year in 1990, makes his
NASCAR debut.

Harry Gant should have won this race but lost because of a very
controversial NASCAR decision. He had a huge lead but was black flagged
with 4 laps to go because of minor smoke. He ignored the flag, stayed on
the track, and finished the distance in first place, but the win was
given to Moroso due to Gant not being scored the final couple laps.

Actually, Rob Moroso's first BGN win was at Myrtle Beach in 1988. This
was his third win.

I believe this was the first ESPN broadcast to feature the Bob/Ned/Benny
combo in the booth.

Owner for the #87 in 1989 was Buddy Baker/Danny Schiff. According to the
1989 Richmond broadcast, the 87 was a Baker entry.

This actually makes since because the drivers Sacks and Spencer, the two
drivers for the cup team in 1989 were driving the car.

Bob Jenkins, Ned Jarrett and Benny Parsons were the commentators. Dr.
Jerry Punch and Jack Arute were the pit road reporters.
