With 2 laps to go Martin sent Davey Allison head on into the wall, so much for the patient driver. 2. To bad it lost what made it a fun series to watch, the short tracks. 4. 1995z71 posted: 12.16.2012 - 10:53 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) This is the start of Jimmy Spencer driving the mysterious #87 Lowes Food Pontiac. No owner is listed. Greg Sacks, Dale Earnhardt & Jimmy Spencer drove the car in 1989. The only info I've found was it was a second Frank Cicci car, but Frank Cicci Racing fielded Buicks not Pontiacs. 5. But Davey didn't realize there wasn't much room for him to clear Mark. So he basically ruined his chance for the win all by himself. 8. In victory lane he mentioned that he drove Buddy Bakers car yesterday in the Busch race. This was right after Buddy Baker fired Greg Sacks as the driver of the #88 car in Winston Cup. Greg Sacks also drove this car in Busch so it was likely Buddy Baker and Frank Cicci's car. 9. jensenators posted: 12.30.2018 - 7:55 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I'm sure that only I was wondering this as I watch what's available of the 1989 Busch season, but Jay Johnson according to the ESPN broadcast was a local car dealer in Bristol TN. Harry Gant pitted during the Lap 101 caution while leading, the crew dropped the jack before the lugs were on the left rear tire. The tire came off resulting in Gant crashing out of the race. Michael Waltrip's 2nd caution was more than just a stall. His car caught on fire in the right front wheel at the start finish line and it took until turn 2 to be able to stop the car and get out. 10.
