Mikey and Robert Pressley got together and Mikey hit the turn 2 gate and the car split in half. Thankfully he was ok. He added some humor to it too. Pit reporter: "Do you have any reservations to be in the Cup race tommorow?" Mikey: "Well, no how could ya? I've been through that and didn't get hurt, I figured I was pretty much invincible at that point!" 2. Thank the Lord that Mike made it out all right. That wreck is very similar to Mike Harmon's wreck at Bristol a few years ago. Now imagine, two race drivers named Mike, and they crash at Bristol so hard their car spilts in half. What are the odds Harmon will hook up with a top Cup ride soon and win the Daytona 500??? ;) 3. Steve Grissom's Big Mama's Meat Snacks #31 Oldsmobile is just driving around Mikey's wrecked car. 4. Darrell posted: 04.08.2006 - 2:20 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Last win for L.D. Ottinger 5. Ottinger still has what it takes to wheel a car. A phenomenal talent behind the wheel and an amazing person off the track as well. 11. Ottinger apparently finished 1st and 4th (in reality it was Mark Martin) because of an error on TNN's Inside Winston Cup Racing. Poor Mark. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TA7RjyK6fp4 - at 19:50 12. Probably the only Mikey commercial I've actually laughed at. 15. Bramblegrunt posted: 06.26.2018 - 5:31 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Pretty entertaining conclusion to a very wreck filled race. The race was particularly slick due to a sealer recently applied. Additionally there was rain all weekend so not many practice laps were under their belt. The accident with Waltrip was surprisingly not part of the live coverage of the event and was shown merely as a highlight in the ESPN coverage, at least per the Youtube video of the event. Kyle Petty looked like he had the best car but he scraped the wall and would never be dominant in the race like he was. LD Ottinger and Dale Jarrett had a great battle for the lead. Ottinger made his car mighty wide and utilized lapped traffic very well. Jarrett could have turned him a couple times and the 2 even did make contact, barely exchanging the lead but Ottinger was able to stay in front. The race ended under caution when Joe Nemechek got into Mark Martin, sending Martin into the wall. Jarrett sped off in front of Ottinger, but this was only after LD had taken the caution flag, securing the win 16. IIRC I think I read in a magazine one he actually asked a crew member if he thought they could fix the car and get back out for a few laps since he didn't think he'd torn the back up end much with that hit. Rarely in history has the word "No" been more obvious. 17. Ottinger wins his final race at his home track. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
