I know Dick Trickle was the Winston Cup ROY like 20 years after his debut. Without doing the research I'm betting this 7 year stretch in Busch is the longest between a debut and ROY award in the series. 6. Dave led 56 laps toward the end (accounting for about 2/3 of all the laps he ever led in the series), lost the lead with 8 to go, and came up only 9/10 of a second short. It was also the closest the #79 has ever been to seeing victory lane in any of NASCAR's top 3 series. The number remains winless to this day. 7. It was the only time he was ever sponsored by Atlantic Oil and Heating. It's hard to believe that Davey never won a Busch race (currently Xfinity) and that he only finished second, twice. 8. rm posted: 08.24.2020 - 1:14 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) The last of the three 300-lappers for the Busch teams at Nazareth. And at just over three hours, it wound up being the quickest of those three races as well. Personally I can't say that watching stock cars at Nazareth is my idea of a great time, but looking at the lap leader breakdowns for those three events they sure looked to be pretty competitive at the front. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
