The crew would service the car running higher in the order first. Dale Jarrett finished 8th despite having the entire right side of his car sheered off in the big Bobby Labonte accident. Tommy Ellis in victory lane called this the biggest win of his career. 7. chris posted: 12.17.2011 - 9:12 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) The last win for Tommy Ellis 8. 83andJoe posted: 09.17.2013 - 2:06 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) #81 crew chief: Gere Kennon 9. 83andJoe posted: 09.17.2013 - 2:08 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) ^ Apologies, misread a source; Kennon CC'd the #42, not the #81 10. Here is part of an article about the race that talks about the wreck. It does not mention all eight drivers. ----- "Just when it seemed Lady Luck again was going to conspire against him, she embraced Ellis, who fell a lap behind when he pitted for four tires on Lap 123. That, however, proved to be a blessing when Labonte's crash forced the race's ninth caution period and a 14-minute delay to clear the track from the eight-car wreck. The melee was caused when Ricky Craven's car seized and weaved into the fast lane, cutting off Labonte's car and launching it into the air. "I was in the lapped car lane, and got some stuff on my tires, and got off the gas," Craven said. "I tried to hold the line high on the turn, but the No. 41 car Jamie Aube drove right into the side of me, hit me a ton and just knocked me into Bobby Labonte." "I got whaled right in the front by Steve Grissom and that drove me right into Craven," said Aube. "It didn't give him any chance to recuperate and hung him out there on a limb."" 18. During the intro to this race Mike Joy complimented Bob Bahre for building the track noting it could become one of the great "showplaces of the sport." Given that nearly three decades later this track remains New England's premier racing facility I would say it certainly has fulfilled that potential. 23.
