At the start of the ESPN broadcast of this race, right as the green flag dropped Ned Jarrett said, "We've got a new National Champion in the field today as Max Prestwood just wrapped up the National Championship in the Winston Racing Series, so a lot of eyes will be on him today." I had never heard of the series he won but the guy was only 31 years old and in that day you were in your infancy in racing at that age. 10. He made 40 starts in the series winning 35 of them. I don't care if he was racing ponies against kindergartners, that's impressive. 11. The nine drivers who finished behind him were Roy Hendrick Johnny Rumley Barry Beggerly Curtis Markham Tink Reedy Jay Fogleman Danny Fair Ronnie Thomas Marty Ward Some real heavy hitters in that division 12. jensenators posted: 01.13.2019 - 2:38 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Crew Chief update: Car 59- Ricky Pearson.
