Dave Madar III wins a pole during his tenure as a small but promising blip on the NASCAR radar. 4. Matt posted: 12.07.2006 - 12:38 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) First NBS start for Stanley Smith. The deadline is usually 2 weeks before the race. If the entry is filed after the deadline, making it a "post entry." 8. He showed the first signs of skill by qualifying on the outside pole but backed the white and red #67 Outback Steakhouse Pontiac into the wall too early in the event to be a factor. This was his car owner Hugh Connerty's only NASCAR race. 11. Unfortunately, he wasn't much of a factor for that race. 16. Anonymous posted: 04.25.2013 - 10:46 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Looking at the race on youtube, 49 cars attempted to make the race. These are 6 of the 9 DNQs, not sure why ESPN didn't mention the other three. 39 Barry Bostick 75 Jimmy Spencer 37 Rick Burgess 88 Randy Baker 87 Joe Nemechek 05 Richard Lasater 17. Joe Nemechek, who would win 1990 Busch Series Rookie of the year this season, failed to qualify for this race because of a nasty practice crash. Apparently his car caught fire afterward and Ward Burton saved his life by pulling him out of the car. 26.
