I believe Davey Allison ran out of fuel or had a fuel issue while they were under caution on the last lap. 8. Harry Gant had the race won they said when with 14 laps left he had something go in his engine, and it looked like it was going to give the race to Ernie Irvan. Ernie Irvan had the race won when his engine went with 4 laps to go and it then looked like the race was Davey Allison's. Davey Allison had the race won when with 1 lap left he has a problem too and it gives Todd Bodine his first career Busch Series win and Jeff Gordon a 2nd place finish. Both Todd Bodine and Gordon would prove with their careers that they were capable of runs like this without the luck they had in this race. 10. @statscrash posted: 03.01.2020 - 8:52 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) It may have been a little luck, but Todd did lead 40 laps. 11. Poor Davey though, this would have been his first Busch win and he lost it with a mechanical failure under caution on the final lap. This was a real heartbreaker especially because as talented as Allison was he never won a Busch race. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
