Funny thing is, Dale Earnhardt was going to park it himself anyway because after that wreck happened he had no chance to win anymore. All of the Cup guys drop out of the Busch races once something happens where they either have no chance to win or if their car isn't good enough to have a top 10 or even 5 finish sometimes. They would park it and get out of the way of the Busch guys driving for points. Ward Burton's crew made a silly decision to keep that car out there until it ran out of gas. They turned what would've been around a 7th place finish to 12th. A full time Busch team running for points, possibly damage the engine, and the Busch teams ran on a very tight budget back then. 19.
