Oliver qualified on the outside pole, led the opening laps, and scored a career-best 12th-place finish. This was the only time Oliver led a Busch race. 11. I wish the Xfinity Series would still race there, not really sure why they don't at least once a year. In my opinion, there should be more standalone Xfinity races, but there should be at least 1 race at tracks where the Cup Series races twice. 13. This was the last race where Gant had the same iconic green-and-white Skoal Bandit colors on his #7 Busch car that also adorned his famous #33 Winston Cup entry; in 1992 his Ed Whitaker-owned #7 would get a new sponsorship deal from MAC Tools. 15. Gordon's sponsor through all of the season to this point were the Carolina Ford Dealers, who I can't imagine were happy about their hot shoe racing a GM car in the season finale, but the dealers were on their way off the #1 as Gordon and the Bill Davis team had a new sponsorship from Baby Ruth candy bars coming aboard for 1992. 19. Jimnsimforever posted: 01.18.2019 - 4:39 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @18 I didn't get to watch this one but did find a short clip of the race and saw that Gordon was driving a car that had Bobby Labonte's sponsor on it, so I assumed it must've been his backup car Gordon's team had to borrow so he could run the race. Yes, I'm sure that had to be something their sponsor didn't like at all. In these days even the very top Busch Series team's weren't funded or staffed well enough to hurry up and repaint the car with their sponsor on it. Would've looked strange to see Carolina Ford Dealers on an Olds though I'm sure they would've rather that be the case than nothing at all. 20. In 1992 Davey Allison had crashed enough times early in the season that the Yates team went to Junior Johnson's to borrow a back-up car. For about a month a red Budweiser 11 sat inside the 28 Havoline hauler. The one stipulation was that if the Yates team used it, they couldn't paint it black. Tim Brewer didn't want two extra coats of paint on the body. 21. 1995z71 posted: 06.25.2020 - 11:00 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Owner Update: Ricky Craven's owner should be listed as himself ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
