sponsors as their Cup rides. Talk about Busch whackers!

Pole sitter Mark Martin had to start at the back because he missed the
drivers meeting. The start of the race was delayed about three hours for
rain.

The difference is they (except for Michael Waltrip) were driving their
own cars. Dale wasn't driving for RCR, he owned his own car that his
buddies would get ready for him in his shop and bring to less than half
the Busch races each year for him to run. Same for the other guys. Dale
Jarrett wasn't driving for Joe Gibbs he was driving a car he owned.
Morgan Shepard was driving his car not the Wood Brothers. Mark Martin
his car not Roush. Even Harry Gant would always drive Busch races for Ed
Whitaker and not the Jackson's. It's likely why the Busch guys were
winning Busch races more in these days and likely why fans liked it and
likely why nobody goes to Xfinity races and did go to Busch races.

Harry Gant had the best car during the race but with 22 laps to go he
and Dale Jarrett made contact for the lead which sent Gant's car into
the wall hard which ended his day.

This race was rain delayed for several hours. Didn't start until after
4:00 EDT.

Dr. Jerry Punch and Ned Jarrett were the commentators. John Kernan and
Benny Parsons were the pit road reporters.
