I would assume they just took the number 2 decal off of one of Davey's cars and raced it that way, but I'm curious if anyone can confirm this. Thanks. 5. Some comments: > Stanley Smith's #45 Laughlin Racing car is an Olds (& not a Chevy as listed on the race results) > Hermie Sadler had the Texaco Star on his hood (as a co-sponsor to Slip-In on his quarterpanels) > Mike Wallace's #9 Olds had High Point Bedding as a primary sponsor (& not Owen Racing as listed on the race results) > FilMar must've bought/rented the #28 for this race per Jeff Burton wrecking the #8 in practice...unsure of the actual 'owner' of that car was (assume Davey Allison?) > Also not used to seeing K. Wallace running a Chevy, but I know for a fact he & C. Bown switched from their usual Pontiacs to Chevys for some intermediate & superspeedways in both '92 & '93 (due to perceived better handling/downforce package offered by Chevy). 11. 27YearsBehind posted: 09.15.2019 - 5:02 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Name of the race is Splitfire Spark Plus 200 Nemecheck was running P6 with two laps to go when a crash occurred well ahead of him. Nemecheck slowed to drive below the accident zone when #30 M. Waltrip clobbered him from the rear and sent him driver door first into the nose of the wrecking car. Nemecheck came to rest backward against the inside wall. There was no way to turn around with the steep banking of the track so he ran wide open in reverse to the end of pit road, where he could spin around to the correct orientation. The nose of the accident car breached the sheet metal of Nemecheck's car, and he went to the infield care center after the event due to sore ribs. 12.
