He was a great talent lost too soon. 2. Patrick posted: 09.22.2008 - 10:14 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Jim Keeker's busch debut. 3. Mike Wallace almost got his first Busch Series win in this race but had to settle for second 6. Future Busch Series race winner and late model star Johnny Rumley filled in for a few laps before falling out due to a rear end problem. Tommy Ellis was parked after a payback incident with Jeff Gordon. Ellis said on the TNN interview that Gordon got into him before this and brake checked him into turn one before the incident 7. saltsburgtrojanfan posted: 09.22.2015 - 3:03 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Caution 1: Lap 2-6: #5,59,75 spun turn 2 Caution 2: Lap 8-10: #2 spun turn 3 Caution 3: Lap 27-29: #79 spun turn 2 Caution 4: Lap 32-36: #59,62,02 spun turn 1 Caution 5: Lap 38-41: #5,64 accident turn 2 Caution 6: Lap 44-47: #64 spun turn 2 Caution 7: Lap 51-54: #59 accident turn 3 Caution 8: Lap 68-72: #62 accident turn 4 Caution 9: Lap 74-76: #12,82,98 spun turns 1/4 Caution 10: Lap 78-81: #1 accident turn 1 Caution 11: Lap 86-90: #64 accident turn 2 Caution 12: Lap 92-94: #59 accident turn 2 Caution 13: Lap 111-113: #82 spun turn 2 Caution 14: Lap 127-131: #79,98 spun turn 2 8. There was some controversy about this too. Rumley hadn't practice in a BGN car that week and NASCAR didn't want a driver who hadn't practiced to drive as a relief driver. But didn't matter the #59 fell out before they made a decision. 9. Michael Ritch was 19 and Nathan Buttke was just 17 years old. 11. I mean, rights right and wrongs wrong but if he put the brakes on him, he got what he deserved there and I'm sorry I shouldn't say that. I like Jeff Gordon as much as anybody does. But a guy slams the brakes on you and you're behind him trying to get your lap back...he got his medicine there." 12. I'm sorry, but why all the hyperbole for every driver who dies young? Stanley was just as likely to become a Yeley as he was to become a Gordon or Stewart. 13.
