The stylized #2, eventually made famous by drivers like Kevin Harvick and Clint Bowyer made its first appearence in this event on the #2 Restore Chevy of David Bonnett (making his second career start). Bonnett wrecked out on lap 93 The wreck on lap 93 was a huge one and lead to a red flag because the track was literally blocked. 5. 23andJoe posted: 02.27.2014 - 2:47 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) #42 owner: Andy Hillenburg 6. Thanks. 10. Jeff Burton had to start at the back of the field after they found illegal carburetor modifications after his qualifying run. For more proof that Rusty Wallace wasn't the owner of Kenny Wallace's Busch car in 92, and Felix Sabates was. During the start of the race broadcast after the starting grid is shown they show the roof cam being on Kenny Wallace's car. Mike Joy says "Hi to car owner Felix Sabates, who had emergency appendectomy surgery this week..." Steve Bird was the crew chief for Kenny through the first part of the season, as soon as Jeff Hammond was let go from DW's Cup team he then took over as crew chief for Kenny for the remainder of the 92 Busch season. The move was made so the two could get used to working together before the team went to Winston Cup in 1993. 13. I got a very close up view of the car on the back early in the race when he spun and on the flatbed after he was in the wreck. On the hood it said Slip-In Food Mart, on the quarter panels it said Sadler. On the back it said Sadler Motorsports. Ernie Irvan blew 4 motors before this race started and had to borrow one from Dale Earnhardt to run the race.....then blew it too. Man, those things weren't cheap. 14. 34McDowellFan posted: 06.03.2019 - 12:44 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) https://nascar.nbcsports.com/2019/06/03/joe-gibbs-racing-on-verge-of-tying-roush-fenway-for-most-national-nascar-wins/ 15. Sorry for confusion, they are not tied yet, it looks like. 16. 34McDowellFan posted: 06.03.2019 - 2:22 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I was more putting that here because it makes it seem that Mark's 1992 Busch Starts have the wrong owner listed. It should be Jack Roush, not Mark Martin, especially if Mark himself confirmed this. 17. RaceFanX posted: 08.24.2020 - 1:14 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Owner: #2 David Bonnett- Dale Earnhardt, Inc. Dale owned his own Busch cars and entered David in a second one of his cars, it even still had the #3 Goodwrench logos in the interior. Bonnett did a short-track race for Earnhardt earlier in the season in Dale's #3, bagging a top-10, with Earnhardt bringing him along to run a second car here. 19. Martin had made an illegal modification but NASCAR deemed that the modification played no major role in helping Martin win. 21. JSPorts posted: 12.21.2020 - 10:05 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) That's interesting. Usually, if a car is illegal, they fine/penalize the team regardless of whether or not the modification helped them win. 22. And NASCAR was more prone to treat rule violations as teaching moments, and just say "fix it and don't do it again". 24.
