If Bown had had a little bit of a better run Labonte would have won the title by 1 point. 6. John posted: 10.07.2007 - 5:53 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Jimmy Spencer parked? 7. Richard Lasater sent him out with a top-15. If Joe had been 7th instead of 6th, Bobby would have won the title. 9. When Glenn Jarrett interviewed Nemechek after the race he joked that he didn't want to get too close to the car because he didn't want to tear his pants. 13. The first thing Bobby Labonte asked before he got out of his car was, did we win the championship? Unfortunately Bobby Labonte won the battle but lost the war to Joe Nemechek in the Texas Pete Sauces Chevy which was the only championship for it as a primary sponsor. Most of the time Texas Pete was a associate sponsor for many teams. 14. Spannerhead29 posted: 06.02.2014 - 5:00 am Rate this comment: (0) (1) 1992 Busch Championship using F1 points. One feature is a #77 ending up on Ricky Craven's hood. The sponsor on the #77 was Tri-County Speedway which suggests that Tommy Ellis may have been #77 not #12. 18. nascarman posted: 12.14.2016 - 2:57 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Wow, good catch. Winning at Nazareth gave them the money to continue. During the line-up, they said that Hermie Sadler was in Jack Ingram's car. It was mentioned that Shawna Robinson DNQ during the broadcast when they mentioned that her father had a stroke and was in the hospital. Tommy Ellis got into the 59 car around the 200 lap mark after pressley blew a tire and spun. 22. grissom fan posted: 12.20.2017 - 12:40 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) YES!!!! Probably the same deal as other races from this time where they had a race or 2 on that track besides this one and all together the laps added up to 500. I'm positive about it. They showed the decal for it and Mike Joy said each time leaving and coming back from break. For a championship that was decided by a 3 point margin I was really disappointed by this race ending. It was such an intense battle between Joe and Chuck Bown for that 6th place spot that Bown had and Joe couldn't get by him. Watching it i'm sure everybody was on the edge of their seat wondering who was going to win the championship because it was clear at this time unless he blew up, Labonte was winning the race. To have it decided by a caution getting thrown where they let those 2 race 1 1/4 laps more around after the caution flag including the last quarter of that through the accident area again where it looked like Chuck Bown clearly slowed down. Then they don't even show it on live tv. They showed a replay from way down the track looking back at the front of the cars. You think for something that decided the champion they would've shown every replay possible and explained why they raced for 1 and a quarter laps after the caution and why it looked like Bown was slowed down maybe thinking he took it already or even worse, giving the position to Nemechek. 25. 27YearsBehind posted: 07.17.2019 - 5:53 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @ 21, Nemecheck didn't win Nazareth. He won IRP first and then the fall race at New Hampshire. Does anyone know where the BGN Awards were held this year. I've heard Charlotte and New York. Did the BGN have a set venue in Charlotte somewhere like the Winston Cup had with the Waldorf? 26. 27YearsBehind posted: 01.17.2020 - 12:04 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) According to MRN there were 38 cars attempting to make the field including Shawna Robinson, local Hickory Motor Speedway ace, Kenny Gragg. 27.
