Then, Mikey proposed to who is now his wife, Buffy. That was really sweet. 2. Steve posted: 05.04.2006 - 9:33 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Future Busch Champion Jeff Green earns his first Top 5. It showcases most of the accidents in this race, among them: -Larry Pearson crashed on the backstretch on the first lap after contact with Mike Wallace -Mike Wallace slid coming off the fourth corner while running in 2nd place early in the race, tried to save the car, and finally lost it and hit the outside wall just coming into turn 1, also collecting Joe Ruttman who spun behind him -A big multi-car crash in turn 3 early in the race gobbled up Butch Miller, Joe Bessey, Roy Payne, and Nathan Buttke -Robert Pressley spun Mark Martin out on the backstretch, causing him to tag the inside wall -Tommy Houston and Jack Sprague made contact off turn 4 causing Houston to spin and Sprague to hit the outside wall -Pressley spun Chuck Bown out of the lead coming into turn 1, causing him to hit the wall -A late race crash that caused the race to finish under yellow caused when Richard Lasater crashed on the frontstretch; coming back to the caution, both Tommy Houston and Terry Labonte simultaneously crashed in turn 3 8. ericthenau posted: 12.01.2012 - 9:22 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) WillG_46, I have something to say here: This is NOT the only Top 5 finish for Day Enterprises Racing... they won the 1991 Mountain Dew 400 at Hickory Motor Speedway, with Butch Miller driving and car #52 instead of their regular #16 (which later became the #05 in 2006). 9. A rear tire blew in the middle of turns 3 and 4 and the car turned dead right and head on into the wall at full speed. The front end and front tires were smashed in to the bottom of the windshield and the impact was so hard it pulled the back end of the car forward and snapped the rear axle in half. He was helped out of the car and walked with assistance to the ambulance where he realized his chest hurt pretty bad and was put on a stretcher. I think at the time they said it was just bumps and bruises and he'd be ok. The next race at Richmond they said 2 days after the wreck he was sitting on his couch and bent forward to pick up the remote and one of his ribs snapped in half. They showed the steering wheel from his car and it was mangled and all bent up from his chest hitting it. Usually you hear about that happening and it being the reason the driver is killed. It wasn't a happy 29th birthday for Todd Bodine. 15. SweetRich21/43 posted: 07.27.2020 - 2:58 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) The commentators were Dr. Jerry Punch and Ned Jarrett.
