He would have a bit of a wait before his next win in the series as in 1994 he moved his focus to the Winston Cup series. 5. All of the brand's prior wins came from either Mark Martin or Jeff Gordon. 6. Pacer posted: 10.20.2017 - 1:13 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Tommy Sigmon makes his final BGN start. The somewhat politically incorrect named Tar Baby Pancake House that was his sponsor for his starts in the 1993 season was a local restaurant in Myrtle Beach so its fitting his final start on the tour came here at that track. The pancake restaurant is still open, under that name, today and apparently is a favorite among Myrtle Beach locals. 7. TNN broadcast this race and joked about how hot it was by pretending (at least I think it was pretend) to fry an egg on the truck lead of David Bonnett's #12 Chevy during the introduction to the broadcast. Pit reporter Glenn Jarrett showed off how several of the drivers planned to keep cool during the pre-race festivities only with a pit crew splashing him a giant Gatorade bucket of ice water as he finished the segment (I hope that was scripted). 8. possum posted: 02.28.2020 - 7:49 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @7 - "big story"? Sounds like the TV folk were desperate for something to talk about. Races in 90+ temps in the South are nothing unusual - heck, in that era they were still running Talladega in July or August, and that's a damn sight hotter than Myrtle Beach. 9.
